Functional Outdoor Shutters for a Historic Home

Built in 1909, this historic home has a lot of charm and history! When the owner came to us looking for an updated yet functional solution for outdoor shutters, we were excited to get to work!

These shutters are fully operational, but to keep the overall exterior looking cohesive, the blades were fixed in the upward position (downward position if the panels were closed over the window). Natural sunlight will show through the blades adding a beautiful dimension to the home’s brick exterior. The shutters were built at a size that would fully cover the window should the homeowner decide to close them and painted a dark bronze to match the windows.
